Congratulations to Patrick Shea
Mr. Shea has won a contract with Cirque du Soleil's tribute show to the Beatles titled "Love", appearing nightly. Patrick attributes his career beginnings to the training he received here at California DanceArts and the roles he performed as an Imp in California Theatrical Youth Ballet's production of the Snow Queen. He says that he is STILL being an Imp, but now he "Imp's around" on the amazing Cirque stage at the Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas! Very Well Done Patrick!
Congratulations to Kamissa Marshall
Ms. Marshall has received her primary training at CDA where she is currently an advanced student and is a principal member of Ctyballet. Ms. Marshall has recently been accepted to several world class summer intensive programs including a program with American Ballet Theater, Kaatsbaan International Dance Center's Extreme Ballet Program and this past summer '07 attended the Ostrava Ballet Workshop in the Czech Republic where she received intensive study and advanced preparation for professional company work. Ms. Marshall has also accepted a position to direct our new California Theatrical Junior Ballet Company until the end of the school term.
Congratulations to Alyssa Thompson
Ms. Thompson has received her primary training at CDA where she is currently an advanced student and principal member of Ctyballet. She has recently attended the American Ballet Theatre Collegiate Summer Program and Salzburg International Ballet in Austria. This past summer she attended the Ostrava Ballet Workshop. Ms. Thompson has been accepted to the famous Janacek Conservatory in the Czech Republic where she will have the opportunity to continue advanced ballet studies and to perform with the Ostrava Ballet.
Congratulations to Ryan Morrsion
Mr. Morrison has accepted a dance contract as a member of the Ostrava Ballet in the Czech Republic. He will join the ranks of the company at the beginning of 2008. Mr. Morrison has received his primary training at CDA where he is an advanced student and principal member of Ctyballet. He was previously awarded a full scholarship to attend a summer intenisve program with Boston Ballet. In 2004, he was given the opportunity to perform with Universal Ballet. He will be missed very much...but we hope that he set the ballet world on fire!
Congratulations to Jessie Wilson
Ms. Wilson receives her primary training at CDA where she is an intermediate ballet student. She is a member of Ctyballet. In 2006, she was accpeted into an intensive summer program with Boston Ballet. and recently returned from the Czech Republic where she attended intensive advanced ballet studies. Jessie is also a classical singer and has recently had success in a number of showcase performances.
Jacyln Speas- Alumni
is a graduate from the Los Angeles County High School of the Arts located on the campus of Cal State L.A and a graduate of the California DanceArts program. She was accepted into several college dance programs in Summer 2004 including; California State University of Long Beach, University of the Arts- Philidelphia and dance dept University of California-Irvine. Jaclyn is currently pursuing a BA in dance with a minor in physical therapy at the University of California Santa Barbara. Jaclyn has been with us at Cal Dance Arts since she was nine years old. During her enrollment with us, Jaclyn became an advanced dancer in our ballet program and a principal member and dance captain of ctyballet. She starred in many roles created specificly for her, including the roles of Princess and Snow Queen in the annual production of "The Snow Queen". In 2005, Jaclyn was accepted and she indeed attended studies with the Salzburg International Ballet.
Micheal Forsch-Alumni
Micheal received his ballet training primarily at California DanceArts and graduated into advanced studies. He became principal member of Ctyballet enjoying many starring roles. He is now an intsructor at CDA and continues a successful free-lance dance and acting carreer performing for many dance events, dance companies,TV and film.
Tene Kelly-Alumni
Trained in ballet and hip-hop at CDA and became principal member of Ctyballet. Having been a level 8 gymnast, Tene became our most popular Acrodance coach. Now you will find her in Africa learning native dances and teaching gymnastics, working and helping others in the Peace Corps. Tene recently graduated University Southern California with honors.
