Jacyln Speas- Alumni
is a graduate from the Los Angeles County High School of the Arts located on the campus of Cal State L.A and a graduate of the California DanceArts program. She was accepted into several college dance programs in Summer 2004 including; California State University of Long Beach, University of the Arts- Philidelphia and dance dept University of California-Irvine. Jaclyn gained a BA in dance with a minor in physical therapy at the University of California Santa Barbara. Jaclyn has been with us at Cal Dance Arts since she was nine years old. During her enrollment with us, Jaclyn became an advanced dancer in our ballet program and a principal member and dance captain of our youth company. She starred in many roles created specificly for her, including the roles of Princess and Snow Queen in the annual production of "The Snow Queen". In 2005, Jaclyn was accepted and she indeed attended studies with the Salzburg International Ballet. And as a member of Santa Barbara Dance Theater she performed on tour throughout China. New News! Jaclyn has returned to California DanceArts and accepted a position to dance as a principal member of California Contemporary Ballet.
Congratulations to Patrick Shea
Mr. Shea has won a contract with Cirque du Soleil's tribute show to the Beatles titled "Love", appearing nightly. Patrick attributes his career beginnings to the training he received here at California DanceArts and the roles he performed as an Imp in California Contemporary Ballet's production of the Snow Queen. He says that he is STILL being an Imp, but now he "Imp's around" on the amazing Cirque stage at the Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas! Very Well Done Patrick!
Congratulations to Ryan Morrsion
Mr. Morrison accepted a prinicpal position with California Contemporary Ballet. Mr. Morrison has received his primary training at CDA where he is currently an advanced student and was a member of our youth company since he was eight years old. He was previously awarded a full scholarship to attend a summer intenisve program with Boston Ballet. In 2004, he performed with Universal Ballet and was offered a contract as a member of the Ostrava Ballet in the Czech Republic in 2007. We are very happy to welcome Mr. Morrison into our professional company, California Contemporary Ballet.
Congratulations to Gioel Enriques
Gieol recieved his primary training at CDA for seven years during which time he performed in our youth company. He also attended summer intensive workshops in Salzburg, Austria and in Ostrava, Czech Republic as part of our Global Ballet Workshops offered through CDA. NEW NEWS! Gieol has won a position with Pilobolus Dance Theater and will be dancing with the company during their national tour Febuary thru May 2009. Well Done!
Congratulations to Kamissa Marshall-Alumni
Ms. Marshall has received her primary training at CDA where she was an advanced student and is a principal member of our youth company. Ms. Marshall was accepted to several world class summer intensive programs including a program with American Ballet Theater, Kaatsbaan International Dance Center's Extreme Ballet Program and this past summer '07 attended the Ostrava Ballet Workshop in the Czech Republic where she received intensive study and advanced preparation for professional company work. In 2007, Ms. Marshalla became director of our Junior Ballet Company. Ms. Marshall has currently accepted a position to dance in projects relating to her religous faith.
Congratulations to Alyssa Thompson- Alumni
Ms. Thompson has received her primary training at CDA where she is currently an advanced student and principal member of Ctyballet. She has recently attended the American Ballet Theatre Collegiate Summer Program and Salzburg International Ballet in Austria. This past summer she attended the Ostrava Ballet Workshop. Ms. Thompson has been accepted to the famous Janacek Conservatory in the Czech Republic where she will have the opportunity to continue advanced ballet studies and to perform with the Ostrava Ballet.
Micheal Forsch-Alumni
Micheal received his ballet training primarily at California DanceArts and graduated into advanced studies. He became principal member of our youth company enjoying many starring roles. He is now a professional dancer enjoying many free lance roles and positions in Las Vegas. He is seen in dance events, dance companies,TV and film.
Tene Kelly-Alumni
Trained in ballet and hip-hop at CDA and became principal member of Ctyballet. Having been a level 8 gymnast, Tene became our most popular Acrodance coach. For several year she was living in Africa learning native dances and teaching gymnastics, working and helping others in the Peace Corps. Tene graduated University Southern California with honors.
