Commonly Asked Questions
What is the difference between California DanceArts and
California Contemporary Ballet?
California DanceArts enjoys the strong connection to our affiliated dance company California Contemporary Ballet. The school and the performing company were established to train and provide the community with quality dance education and performing opportunities for artists. California DanceArts is an academy for training dancers and providing high caliber dance education, while California Dance Contemporary Ballet (CCBallet) is a non-profit dance company formed to facilitate valuable performance opportunities for dancers who infuse our community with quality dance performances. The California Contemporary Youth Company was established as an extension of CCBallet, expanding these valuable opportunities to young dancers interested in peformance opportunities and career preparation. The academy and company have extended their purposes and focus toward service to the Los Angeles community and throughout Southern California. We have further defined our commitment to our talented artists by delivering quality dance training, complete with theatre performance experiences.
My child probably won’t have a career in dance, why train professionally?
While every child may not possess the desire to become a professional dancer, we believe that quality dance training of a professional caliber will ultimately benefit students of any skill level and at any age. Even the recreational dancer will gain all of the benefits offered by a top-rate dance education program. While it’s fine to have a recreational aspect to any activity, professional quality and professionalism should be the product of any school or academy teaching learned skills. We offer a free Report, “Children, Playing for their life,” which examines the value of serious training in arts and sports programs, imparting valuable lessons of work ethics and self confidence if not train one in a worth while profession.
Are you affiliated with any particular church, school, racial or religious organization?
No. Although a suburb of Los Angeles, La Canada is a small multi cultural town with many faiths and churches collectively creating an area that is safe and family oriented. There are also many well-respected religious based or affiliated private schools in the community. We are proud to share the facilities offered at the La Canada Intermediate School with several of La Canada's finest. While we may provide dance class services to several such private institutions, our dance academy is not religious based and is not affiliated with any one particular religion or school. Many of our teachers and students attend churches representing a variety of faiths. We believe in respecting the religious beliefs of all individuals and are not discriminate based on religion or race.
What makes California DanceArts different from any other dance school? Aren't they all pretty much the same?
There are five things that can make a huge difference in the quality of instruction offered and the amount of costs and over-all enjoyment of being involved in a dance program. We offer a Free Report that examines such differences and which apply to children and adult training as well.
