New Global Ballet Workshop Program!

California DanceArts is pleased to announce the Global Ballet Workshop in Urbania, Italy. This summer experience is directed by the renowned Angela DeMello, who received scholarship study at the Royal Ballet School and eventually became prima ballerina of the English National Ballet.

California DanceArts director Erin Holt , will be joining Ms. DeMello and her faculty to bring you the very best Italian ballet and Contemporary dance training in 2009.

The place to study is located in scenic Urbania, formerly named Casteldurante. A medieval town situated close to Urbino (the birthplace of Raphael) Urbania is an ideal location for a Study Holiday. It is rich in artistic heritage and has a tradition of ceramics developed during the Renaissance. This charming town rests in the foothills of “Le Marche”, the region across the Apennines from Tuscany, and is just 50 km from the sunny beaches of the Adriatic coast.! L’Etoile Centro Studi Danza provides newly built spacious studios with stunning views of the town. Scuola-Italia is situated in a 19th century palazzo in the historic town centre near to the beautiful theatre that has just been restored. Extend your visit and enjoy the arts music festival until August 18th or beyond! Consider that this just may be the perfect workshop to combine with a family vacation!

Directed by the renowned Angela DeMello, who received scholarship study at the Royal Ballet School, graduated to the Royal Ballet Company Covent Garden and was promoted through the ranks to Senior Soloist. In 1991 Ivan Nagy invited her to join the English National Ballet as Prima Ballerina. Angela has worked with world renowned choreographers and teachers including, Sir Frederick Ashton, Sir Kenneth MacMillan,Glen Tetley, Rudolf Nureyev, and Natalia Makarova. She has danced with Nureyev, Baryshnikov, Dowell, Wall, Sleep, Fonteyn, Sibley, Park, Collier, Mason, Seymour, Guillem and Ferri.

California DanceArts director Erin Holt , will be joining Ms. DeMello and her faculty to bring you the very best Italian ballet and Contemporary dance training.

This program also features an elective course in the Italian language (held daily). Those that choose to include study in this romantic language will gain a connection to the Italian culture that is not provided anywhere else.

$1500.00 2 wk Complete Dance Workshop M-Sat (Sunday off)
$1800.00 Complete Dance Workshop Plus Italian Language Course

Accommodations:
Shared Apartments: 2 bedrooms shared. 4 students per apartment
$175 each student /with utilities split between each student approx. total $230
Apartments are furnished with kitchen aids ready for preparing own meals.
Including TV, dinning area, living room and nearby supermarkets.

Note* Students traveling with our director, ages 14-16 yrs, will have adult supervision
